| the girl |
→ She is left handed. → Her favorite colors are red and green. → She is passable at speaking Gaelic- she can definitely hold a conversation, but most of what she knows was learned from various folk songs and campfire stories. → She's been taking dance lessons (at her mum's studio) for as long as she can remember. Jenny never felt forced into the activity, however, and feels as naturally comfortable on a dance floor as she does anywhere else. → Her father taught her to sing and tell stories the way he does, and she loves nothing so much as singing with him, her own alto voice melding with his warm baritone. → Her favorite time of the year is attending the Highland Games each summer. → She looks up to her brother with a reverence that might surprise people. She's always idolized him. → With five nieces and nephews and countless cousins, Jenny can't imagine not having a big family. |
| the history |
→ The second child and only daughter of Atticus and Lizzie Wood, born ten years after her brother, Jamie. → While Atticus and Lizzie were both magical, they were the only ones in the extended family with magic, so Jenny grew up knowing when and how to hide her own talents. It never bothered her, really. → She accompanied her mum to the dance studio from infancy, but Jenny's first formal lessons came at age four. She took to it instantly, and eagerly learned all that her mum could teach her. → Jenny was ten years old when her brother got married, and she had the Very Important role of flower girl. She was sad that Jamie was moving away, but she liked Kayley and they both promised she could visit whenever she wanted. → A year later she started at Hogwarts, which helped distract her from the quieter house. She was sorted into Gryffindor- Jenny was upset at first, having wanted to follow her da's footsteps into Hufflepuff. → She quickly found her place among her new housemates, however, and Jenny did well in most of her classes. She was never a star student, but she enjoyed her time there and that, she decided, was more important. → After school, Jenny returned home. She didn't have any particular career idea in mind, so she just stuck with what she knew... Helping out in her da's shop, dance lessons at her mum's studio and singing with her da's band at their gigs. → She also took to writing and illustrating children's books- mostly just traditional stories that she'd grown up with. She's had a few published, which thrills her to no end. → There are times that she'll admit to feeling like she hasn't really grown up yet... She's never particularly dated, sometimes feeling like she might be too picky, her standards set too high after growing up with her parents and brother and seeing how happy and in love they've been. Mostly Jenny just tries to push this aside, focusing on what makes her happy and figuring that the rest will fall into place one way or another. |
